Today, I’m working late shift. 3-11pm. So I am currently in the middle of getting ready for tomorrow and the weekend. I’ll be heading down to the NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall. I’m pretty excited, should be a fun experience. I’m being put up in a hotel room then have free reign to the city until the draft starts. So if you’re going to be in NYC at all this weekend, let me know! I’m in the process of creating a list of things to bring with me on the trip, since I’ll be there for a lil while, i gotta make sure I’m prepared. So far I’ve shaved, got a hair cut, picked out the clothes i’ll wear while at the draft, and put together my toiletries. Now I’m waiting for the laundry to finish so i can pack it all up. So yea,… you’re probably bored of reading this by now.. soo:
Tweet about it, facebook it up,.. tell all of your friends to go to that link ^ and watch the draft, please! Even if you don’t want to watch it,… just open the page, leave it open in the background,…
I’ll take some pictures and send them in here… if you’re bored check out the discover section and watch some videos!
I’ve always heard people say “just clear your mind” and I had thought i was able to do it before. But I was wrong. Today my mind went blank. But it wasn’t because i was trying to clear it or concentrate on something. I was just stuck on a thought. In the first stages of the thought,… so it hadn’t quite been established.
Lets try an explanation: a thought has a life cycle (for me atleast), phase 1: it’s triggered,.. phase 2: it’s established, phase 3: it concludes.
So I was stuck at phase 1,… It was a weird feeling… the thought never really got anywhere. And during this time, it felt like everything around me was all moving in slow motion, even all my movements. I was walking outside at this point, and even though everything was moving in slow motion,…. before i knew it I had walked from the gym to my car. It’s a very odd, yet calming feeling.
I started to wonder why this happened when it did. And i think it’s because I had one thought extremely prominent in my mind most of the afternoon. And that thought slowly took up the rest of my mind, until I had no room left for anything else… and BAM. It happened. Complete unexpected silence in my head. I didn’t really notice it at first (cause i wasn’t thinking) but then I did think about what just happened, how far i just walked with out thinking about a single thing around me,… I mean, I took everything in, I saw the side walk, the trees and everything, but I didn’t think about them. It’s a hard concept to understand. I digested the information that my eyes were seeing, but didn’t think about any of it.
And thats my tid bit for today. I’m gonna see if i can’t get back to that peacefulness.
Yes it’s true. I did buy myself an iPad 2. Butttt I did not wait in line. I got it Saturday morning the day after it came out. I called around to a few places first to see if they had any, and there was a best buy in Meriden, CTthat still had a few. They only had the 32gb wifi ones in black, but that was the one i was shopping for,… success. and now I have got the word press app on here and I am writing this update from the iPad.
And now my review:
No complaints so far. The smart cover is reallllly cool on this. I did read about a light leakage issue, but I do not have the problem with my screen luckily.
This is my first iPad, so ive been trying out some apps. Top favs are: GarageBand, imovie, djay, and the daily. I’ve had a lot of fun trying out the djay app and playing around a recording some things with garage band. I’ve also created my first iMovie movie on here. Which was super easy.
Videos on here as extremely smooth, and the FaceTime app is nice. Pretty good video on the camera on back.
Anyways, that’s my iPad 2 take. Check ya later poopsicles.
Lately: I have not been working out. I have not been eating well. I have been playing basketball every so often. I have been lazy. I have reorganized, somewhat, my bedroom. I have started to use Twitter more. I have started to spend less money! I have been listening to lupe fiasco, and become a huge fan of the song Go Go Gadget Flow. if you haven’t heard it you should look that lil guy up.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of my employment at ESPN. It’s been a good year, plenty of good times so far, hopefully they’ll keep coming and i can keep moving forward.
And that’s it for this quick post. also check out this lil bookmarklet,…. makes every website a game of asteroids: http://erkie.github.com/ just follow the instructions and then click the link whenever you wanna rip up a website. really helps when bored.
So today i was thinking of things i need to do, and a few of them ended up being things that were my new years resolutions. So i decided i’d try to get back into them again. I figured since one of them was to keep this blog updated, then this would be a good place to start.
So lets just talk about whats been happening. This past weekend I have been packing up all my things, and on Monday, with the help of Adam, Jess, and my new roommate Micah we were able to move all of my stuff from my old apt to a new place. Then we also moved Micah out of his room. The new place is pretty nice. It’s located in the Huntingwoods apartment complex. I’m currently all unpacked and ready to settle in, but we are missing a few things. Pots + pans and all kinds of dishware. The last place i was at had them already, so i never needed to bring any. Micah,… i don’t know what his excuse for not having any is, but nevertheless we have none. That is priority numero uno.
So lets talk more about this place (it’s going to kind of be in list form). I have the larger of the two bedrooms, so I am actually paying a bit more than Micah for rent because of that. We both have our own bathrooms, mine is attached to the bedroom. Our living room is set up with 40″ Samsung, xbox360, wii, and bluray. We are contemplating getting a projector and being engulfed in entertainment. wouldn’t be a bad thing. Also tonight i’m going to see about getting a washer and dryer. Another thing on the list of wants is a wrap around couch so we can lounge comfortably while watching a foolishly large screen. We’d also want to snaggle a coffee table and end tables at that point too. As for myself, i just need to get somethings to put on the walls of my room to make it look nice, and a new desk and I’ll be set.
UPDATE: we have dangled a couch. it’s pretty nice and will arrive tomorrow morning. exciting times really.
The place is coming along quite nicely. I will leave more about the place once I’ve settled further in. I’ll be writing another post soon about the NBA draft. Get Excited!! welp, see ya later!
So i’ve been adding a lot of videos on here lately, and that’s fun and all, but you people out there in beingbrandon land have no clue what it’s been like to be brandon these past couple weeks,… and i’m truly sorry.
First off, it was a rough couple weeks, so there’s no way you’d want to read about me moaning and groaning and wining and shizzle. So moving beyond all that stuff now we’ll find ourselves coming up close to the end of summer, and I’ve been trying to make up for the past however long.
Last night I went to hang out with my good ol’ buddy Danielle and watch the X-Games 3D movie. Started off with ice cream, to her parents feeding me dinner (BONUS!), then sneakin some snackeroos into the theater. The movie was pretty sweet, the 3D experience is cool at some points, but at others it really wasn’t needed. Overall it was a very inspiring film, made me want to excel in anything I do. I have a couple new role models, Danny Way and Travis Pastrana. Danny Way epitomizes the never give up philosophy, and Pastrana,… just wow, what can’t this guy do? Ridiculous. I hope I can one day have a fraction of their success in whatever I do.
NEXT: have you heard about The Gracious Few? Probably not, its a mixture of Candlebox’s lead singer and the guitarist, bassist, and drummer for LIVE. I’m a huge LIVE fan, and have been since I was in 5th grade. This summer I went to see Candlebox and Live in concert, great concert. I’m extremely excited to listen to the music these guys come up with. I think it’s going to be amazing.
So what else is happening? Oh, well I’m just moving down the road a lil bit. Gonna be living with a couple muggles. Kate and Kari. Now I’ve known Kate for a while now, and we’ll get along just fine, no doubt. But Kari has never met either Kate or I and did not know we’d be moving into the same place with her until a couple days ago. SURPRISE! She’s quite unaware that she will soon have 2 new bff’s. Either that, or she’s gonna regret every moving in there. Hopefully the first. So it will be quite interesting I’m sure. So I’m gonna start moving some stuff out today, then on Sunday I’m moving all my crap out with the help of my amazing parents. Then leaving my stuff in the trailer until i find another apt to reside in, or find out what i’m doing with my life.
Other news for this weekend, I’m gonna be hanging out with the one and only Brit Philbrook. Haven’t seen this lady for a while but we’re gonna be going to the Ray Lamontagne and Rustic Overtones concert on saturday. Should be awesome, but it’s also suppose to rain, which could put a damper on things. But I don’t mind rockin’ out in the rain.
And lastly I will give you a preview of whats to come in the next couple weeks: I will be going white water rafting down the Penobscot with a bunch of friends. Gonna be sick nasty brotha. I’m pretty excited for it, and I will let you know more about it after it happens.
Anyways, good come back post I’d say, but I’m gonna leave you with a couple videos, just incase you don’t know ray lamontagne or rustic:
Completely burnt on my shoulders, well worth it though. I had a great day saturday, woke up early and went to Sam Powell’s place, hung out with clint, sean, brett, danielle, emily, and kim. Did some wakeboarding, some skiing, some volleyball, and just some good ol’ fashion fun. Can’t wait to do that sometime soon again… i love water sports. I would love to find a place on a lake and buy a boat, and afford all of that, and also have a job i can work from home that pays really well. Anyways, it was a fun weekend.
